Microsoft certainly seem to be taking cloud computing very seriously and aim to be ahead of the game. Microsoft have released details of their Office 15 suit showing some screen shots of programs included in the suite. P J Hough, Microsofts division corporate vice president of development wrote, “With Office 15, for the first time ever, we will simultaneously update our cloud services, server, mobile and PC clients for Office, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Project and Visio.” So lets take a look at the new Microsoft Office 15 Preview.
Microsofts aim, as they have always aimed for, is to enable people to work and communicate much more effectively and smoother. Microsoft have stiff competition from other cloud based services such as Apples iWork Online and in particular Google Apps. Their aim is to obviously not only compete on this front but lead the way.
Programs included in Office 15 are, Access, Excel, Microsoft InfoPath Designer, InfoPath Filler, OneNote, Outlook, Powerpoint, Project, Publisher, SharePoint, Visio and of course their flagship program Word. All in all quite an impressive range of products and I think even the most critical individual of Microsoft would have to agree.
Microsoft have struggled a little since the departure of former Co-Founder and CEO Bill Gates, however with initiatives such as Office 15, Microsoft could be in for a massive revival.
