Free SEO Help And Advice
For as long as I have been trying to make a real go of Techmedia Fusion and my Youtube channel, and it has been about two years now, things certainly have not gone according to plan. However I know where I am going wrong and I know what needs to be done if I want things to change. the only problem is, although I know what is wrong and the reasons Techmedia Fusion has not been a bigger success, I am unable to fix the problems and I’ll explain why later. Over the past two years or so I have read almost every book available on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), SMM (Social Media Marketing), the workings of Google analytics etc and Web Design and have developed a passion for this subject. As a result of this new found knowledge and the fact I am unable to use it for myself I’ve decided to help others and give free SEO help and advice.
As with a Chef, if he or she refuses to eat the food they make, it is highly unlikely that their customers will dine at their restaurant. Well for someone to offer free SEO help and advice, yet run a web site that is not terribly successful in terms of page rankings, unique visitors etc, etc, etc has a similar effect; not many people are going to want the advice even if it is free. So I will explain my reasons for doing this and hopefully in the process help others gain from my knowledge.
Time And Consistency
Before you even venture into designing your own web site, deciding the area you want to enter and then starting to learn about all the fundamental elements that are going to help aid your success, there are two things you must possess and without them you might as well save yourself a lot of time and money. Time and Consistency are the two vital elements you must possess in order to earn a healthy living from your Web Site and move forward into a highly successful bracket. Even if you have one and not the other, it is still not enough. For me personally, I have time in abundance but lack the consistency that is equally important.
Most of you I am sure know my situation, for those of you that don’t I’ll very briefly explain as it is relevant. I served in the British Army for almost 13 years, unfortunately I sustained a serious spinal injury which meant I had to be medically retired. After quite a few years of civilian life I became involved in technology and developed a passion for it. During the last three of four years I’ve become more and more involved in social media, blogging and vlogging on youtube. My spinal injury and all that goes with it, has prevented me sustaining any level of consistency for my web site.
I am constantly in pain, in and out of hospital and attending regular physio sessions, it is these factors that prevent me from writing blog posts every day or making and editing videos two or three times a week. To date I have undergone five spinal fusion and various other less intrusive surgeries on my spine, but over all it is the level of pain and the fact it is constant which prevents me from making a success of Techmedia Fusion
What Makes A Successful Blog / Web Site
I would just like to clarify that if you simply want to run a blog or web site as a personal hobby and perhaps earn a little bit of cash on the side, anyone can do that and you can ignore what I have written so far in this post. However the aim of this post is for those of you that want to earn a living from your Web Site, turn it into a viable business, get to the point where you are approaching large companies to advertise on your site or better still have them approach you to advertise, employ staff and perhaps invite investors to join your company.
So very briefly what makes a successful blog or web site.
1. Time – To hit the big time with your blog or site you need to make it a full time job, time is vital, for the first year or so you probably wont stop at 17:30 as with conventional jobs but will keep going into the night
2. Consistency – The very first time you fail to add a post or video to your blog or miss a day from whatever schedule you display to your readers, you will lose subscribers. Do it once and you might be forgiven, twice and you will start losing people, do it three times and you might as well start all over again or just forget about it.
3. Content – A lot of SEO’s argue a little bit about this, the old chicken and egg situation and which came first. Fantastic content will bring in the readers, but some SEO’s think if you don’t SEO your site well, it won’t matter how good your content is, the search engines won’t direct readers to you.
4. SEO – As above and like I said, SEO and Content could swap places but both are absolutely vital.
5. SMM – SMM (Social Media Marketing) basically this is the art of getting traffic to your site or blog. Whether you like it or not, you will need to be active on as many Social Networking sites as possible but in particular Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. Although the jury is out on Google+ it is still important to use the service.
Obviously there are so many different factors in each of the examples listed above and I will be covering it all on Techmedia Fusion
Why Am I Doing It For Free
I’ve spoke to my friends about the new direction I will be taking Techmedia Fusion, breaking down all the information I have learned and passing it over to you guys for free, and almost all said I should set a fee for the service. I just want to clear up why I am not going to be charging anyone for the information and the services I will be offering on Techmedia Fusion. I am never going to be a rich and wealthy person, I would like to be and would love to give my wife and children a really fantastic life, but I am too soft and too generous. The way I see it is the information I am going to be offering is available anywhere else on the web, however I hope the way I present it will be much easier to understand and implement. I can’t be ruthless in business so to speak, I don’t have that killer edge to get what I want no matter who gets hurt along the way, which is why I will never be rich
There is only one service that I may charge for and that is only if it costs me money to perform the service. I will be offering people the chance to have one to one advice on their own personal blog or site. In other words if you own a blog that is not doing very well, I will schedule a time slot whereby, via Skype, Facetime or GoToAssist and your permission, I can take a look at your site and make changes and advice you of what needs changed going forward. Like I say, I will only charge for this service if it cost me money to run the service, but I will provide more information on this later.
For me personally I am happy to help others without expecting anything in return, I fear that on far too many occasions the world will only help out if there is something in it for them. I am not saying I am some sort of saint or anything stupid like that, just simply that I am not in a position to make a success of anything so rather than sit and fester on all the information I have learned over the years, someone else might as well benefit.
