Blackberry CEO thinks tablets are pointless, at least that is his projection on five years from now, or is this simply wishful thinking on the Blackberry CEO's behalf given RIM's lack of innovation in this area. The Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins, during an interview with Bloomberg, commented on the uselessness of tablets and the likely hood that in five years time they will not be need. Heins makes the statement, that in his opinion tablets are already running out of steam. Perhaps it is these outlandish views that are preventing Blackberry from moving forward in the mobile market.

For me personally, Paul Thurrott and Mary Jo Foley are my main source of all things Microsoft, sure I read other peoples blogs and opinions on the company and their products, but I feel Paul and Mary Jo always give an incredibly balanced account of Microsoft, good or bad. Paul Thurrott of course runs the amazing Winsupersite and Mary Jo Foley writes on CNet and both appear on the fantastic Windows Weekly show hosted by Leo Laporte on Twit TV. As per the description above, Paul Thurrott and Mary Jo have expressed some concerns about Windows 8 and so have many other bloggers and tech writers. Since I have been using Windows 8, I have only good things to say about the OS and I am wondering, am I doing something wrong? am I not using the Operating System correctly? All of the experts, who before the release of Windows 8 defended the barrage of criticism from the anti-Windows world, appear to be agreeing with some of the constructively negative comments pre Windows 8.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Geeks and Geekesses, I would like to apologise for my exceptionally long absence; I find myself apologising quite a bit and to be honest I am sure it is wearing incredibly thin with you all or at least some of you. As the majority of you know, I suffer from ill health, in fact it is this ill health that kind of pushed me into the arms of technology. Due to an injury whilst serving in the British Army on Operational Tour, I find myself in and out of hospital undergoing operation after operation on my spine, however it is not simply this that hinders me but the level of pain I suffer from on a daily basis. Just sitting down and trying to write a single article takes such a long time as I am unable to sit in the one position for any length of time. I went into hospital in October 2012 for my last spinal fusion and I was really expecting to back writing at least a week or so after, but this was not the case, I really don't know why this time my recovery has been so long and drawn out, but it has. I can't promise, like I have done in the past, that content both here and my YouTube channel will start to be more consistent, which is why my blog will never really be at any level of success. Taking all that into consideration I still want to keep at it because for me, and I know you will find this a very over the top statement; but Technology has saved my life, given me a new outlook and allowed me to retain a social life, so its good to be back.

About four years ago, as my Apple obsession began to take over my soul and my home, I purchased an Apple Airport Base Station to help network all my Apple devices together. However the Airport Base Station has a bit more to it than simply connecting all your devices, with the USB port on the back of the device you can add an external hard drive which then becomes available to all devices that have access to the network, or if you didn't want to do that you could add a printer. I know most printers now already have WiFi connections within them but four years ago it was pretty cool for all your devices to have access to the printer. Up until about six months ago, my WiFi signal from the Base Station began to weaken and certain devices where unable to connect to the net when up stairs. So in this tutorial I will show you how to extend your home network.

Currently in the technology market, I think it is a fair statement to make in saying Apple are top dog, but of course, they can't stay there forever, the top dog never does and especially with the death of Steve Jobs. Tim Cook and his men are doing an OK in my humble opinion, but I also think that more mistakes have been made under Tim Cook in the past year, than where made under Steve Jobs during his entire term at Apple. So who are the main competitors, just itching to knock Apple into touch? For me personally I'm wondering could Samsung knock Apple of top spot.
