From the day I was medically retired from the British Army, I was basically lost not knowing what I was going to do or provide for me family. I couldn’t get work due to the major complications surrounding the spinal injury I sustained whilst on Operational Tour, and this scared the life out of me. I knew I had to do something and so I turned to IT, not for employment purposes, but to reconnect me to the social life I once had.

In the process of reeducating myself I read so many amazing books and have invested such a lot of money in them. Also along the way I have purchased and read some useless books in terms of technology text books. I have decided to write about books I’ve read in the past and ones I am currently read, letting you guys know my opinion on the book as to whether or not it is worth the money. Tech books are notoriously expensive and it is always helpful have a good book recommended to you by someone you know and trust and I hope I fit that profile. And so Techmedia Fusion Book Reviews was born.

Pro Blogger Book Review

I think it is pretty safe for me to assume that most of you reading this post will have heard of the magnificent web site called “Pro Blogger”. If you haven’t, I apologise and will briefly explain to you who runs the site and the site’s purpose. Pro Blogger is run by Darren Rowse, probably one of the most highly respected bloggers on the scene at the minute and for quite some time before that. The purpose of the site is to help fledgling bloggers get started and...

Windows 7 Secrets Book Review

I purchased this book, Windows 7 Secrets, a few months ago and the reasons for doing so are plenty. I made up my mind just as I was starting to design Techmedia Fusion that I was not going to solely focus on Apple as a company or their products, despite the fact I own quite a bit of Mac equipment. When I was medically retired from the Army I completed an MCSE and so for me Windows was really the only operating system.  About four or five years after using Windows I started looking into...

WordPress Book

When I very first decided that I wanted to build some sort of web site, it was to compliment my YouTube Channel, however, at this point I had not very much experience of building web sites. I knew I had to find a content management system that made the whole building process simple and painless, which was when I found SquareSpace. I was aware of WordPress and obviously WordPress Books but at that stage thought it too complicated and needed something simple. So I signed up with Square...

Cybergypsies Book Review

For this book review I have chosen perhaps one of my favourite tech books, one a read quite a while ago. This book however is more a light read as opposed learning a programming language or SEO Search Engine Optimisation tip. Cybergypsies was written by Indra Sinha in early 1999, right about the time the old 56K modem was the mode of transport for jumping onto the internet. Set in the UK, the book allows you to take a peek into the lives of a particular group, addicted to the internet and...

The Art of SEO Search Engine Optimisation

I have just recently started my own web site and really wanted to take it seriously. I was in the British Army and sustained a serious spinal injury, so due to obvious limitations, providing for my family has taken its form through my web site. As a result I have purchased quite a lot of books on SEO, Social Media Marketing etc, anything that will help optimise my web site to gain the best results possible. Without a doubt, “The Art of SEO” has been the best book by quite a...
